- A degree from a recognized university or any other equivalent qualification declared by the government.
- Candidates who have appeared for the degree examination will be provisionally eligible for the present combined preliminary examination. However, candidates who qualify for the main examination based on the results of the combined preliminary examination must pass the degree examination by the prescribed deadline for submitting applications for the main examination of the relevant category.
- For the post of Industry Inspector, Group C, in the Directorate of Industries, a degree in engineering (excluding civil and equivalent subjects) or a minimum diploma in technology or a degree in the science stream is required.
- Knowledge of the Marathi language is necessary for all posts.
